I was a big fan of the original Days Gone. Still gutted they never made a sequel, but with this remaster…who knows what could happen in the future? I guess it needs to do well for that to be an option. So before I continue, I implore you all…pick up the damn game already…
The original game is still here with its updated visuals and a few quality-of-life changes. It introduces a Horde mode, Permadeath mode and a Speedrun mode. It also has more accessibility options, DualSense support is handled well and as with most first-party Sony games, comes with hints and activity cards to help you along the way.
The visual upgrade is an impressive one. I always felt like the PS4 was trying to hard to run the original, so now it looks and runs the way it should. The lighting is improved as well. The framerate is solid, and I didn’t come across any glitches during my playthrough, while loading is short. The PS5 Pro enhancements are superb as well.
The Verdict
Days Gone Remastered gives new life to an underappreciated PS4 classic. Now if we can just get a sequel as a result…
