Steam Review: Necrophosis

Is this the ultimate nightmare realm?

Necrophosis is a first-person horror adventure, plunging you into a nightmarish realm teeming with grotesque forms and ominous visuals. Delve into eerie landscapes and uncover secrets in this atmospheric journey through the macabre.

Necrophosis is a pretty surreal game, definitely one that will stay with me for a long time. If you played Scorn or Agony, then you’ll feel at home here, but this game manages to capture its own atmosphere and really draws you in. There’s a free Steam demo if you aren’t 100%, which is always a plus too.

It’s honestly a stunning game with an incredible, daunting atmosphere. The story is intriguing and draws you in as you learn more over the course of it. I don’t want to give anything away, its one of those things that’s best seen for yourself.

The controls are easy to get to grips with, while some puzzles are simple and others require a bit more thinking. I do love the art style as well; it’s definitely got Giger vibes throughout.

The voice-acting is very impressive, and the soundtrack adds to the already macabre atmosphere. The framerate is smooth, and load times were minimal on my laptop, but obviously that depends on your own machine.

The Verdict

Necrophosis is a very intriguing game with some superb visuals, great story and haunting atmosphere. Highly recommended.
