Back in January, I reviewed Hidden Through Time 2: Myths & Magic, which I thoroughly enjoyed. I was always hoping for more, but I wasn’t expecting it so soon or as a separate game. Still, let’s see what is new here…

Discovery has 3 different settings to explore: Noir, Victorian and Sci-Fi. It’s a nice mixture of settings and there are plenty of items to find. The clues for each item can sometimes be helpful or not at all, while the objects can be the most miniscule thing that you will need to zoom in a lot to discover. It’s a nice, calming game that doesn’t have any time limits or anything, so there’s no stress involved. You can take your time, find the items at your leisure and just kick back to a relaxing soundtrack as you do.

The game doesn’t end when you pick up the last item though, you can access the Architect mode to either create your own levels or play online levels created by other players. It’s nice to have some extra items and settings to play with after Myths & Magic and while it feels like more of the same, that doesn’t always have to be a bad thing. I think they’ve got a good formula here and one that will keep me wanting more.

The Verdict

Hidden Through Time 2: Discovery provides 3 new settings and tons of new hidden items to track down. Online levels will bulk it out more and I cannot wait to see what the next entry provides.
