Nintendo Switch Review: Tiebreak+: Official Game of the ATP and WTA

Can this Switch version serve up perfection?

TIEBREAK is the official tennis game of the ATP and WTA. Take part in the major tournaments of the official calendar, challenge the community in multiplayer, and impose your style of play.

I reviewed the PS5 version of Tiebreak back in September 2024 and while I enjoyed it, it couldn’t quite compete with TopSpin 2K25. I was surprised to hear that a Switch version was coming out when its so late in the system’s life cycle (at the time of writing Switch 2 launches tomorrow) so I can’t help thinking why not just delay and release it for that system instead?

Well, whatever the reasons…let’s take a look at it running on Switch. The core game is intact and it’s an impressive port. Naturally it doesn’t look as visually pleasing as the PS5 version and the animations can be a little rough around the edges, but it handles well, and the team have done an excellent job in getting it to run on the system. The latest update brings in new Rivalry Mode, allowing players to relive the greatest moments of the rivalry between Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal.

The Verdict

Tiebreak for Switch is an impressive port, even if I’m not 100% sure why they didn’t just release it for Switch 2 instead. It works well and I have to give credit to the team for delivering a decent port. If you prefer your tennis on the go, then this is worth a go.
