Will this get you and your friends singing?
Everyone Sing is your typical karaoke type game, it comes with 35 songs from different eras of music and replayability in the form of aiming for a higher accuracy rating on higher difficulties, as well as mini-games like Pass the Bomb, Tug of War and Last Man Standing to name a few. It doesn’t change the formula at all, but first lets take a look at the full tracklist…

As you can see, the list of hit and miss. I personally like songs like More Than Words, Common People and Take on Me, while despise the likes of Nicki Minaj…I’m just glad that they didn’t decide to add any Bieber songs. I can’t see the game getting songs in the form of DLC based on the interface, which is a shame since the game has limited replay value as a result. It tries to extend it with its achievements like getting 90% vocals on hard and playing every song with a main singer and a backing singer, as well as a career mode which progressively gets more difficult to pass. I’m expected to get at least 2 thumbs up for singing Don’t Cha, which is very unlikely to ever happen. What’s worse is that the meter for this seems to plummet for doing one duff note and it’s hard to recover from it.
The mini-games are a nice addition, but they do wear thin quickly as you would expect. I would have rather had more songs added to the mix, maybe some Paloma Faith or Adele would have been a nice addition but I guess it must be a licensing issue.
The Verdict
Everyone Sing is a good, but shortlived karaoke game. Its song list of hit and miss, I personally only found a handful of songs that I actually enjoy but some might love or hate the whole list, if you like what you see then it’s worth a try if you are craving a new karaoke game, just don’t go expecting it to change the status quo, SingStar is still king.
