Review: Toho: Gojira City Destroyer Cable Guys Original Controller and Phone Holder

Does this Cable Guys figure destroy the competition?

Introducing the Gojira City Destroyer Cable Guy, celebrating 70 years since the King of the Monsters first made their awe-inspiring appearance on the screen. This Cable Guy is more than a mere accessory; it’s a celebration of Godzilla’s enduring legacy in cinematic history. This iconic monster securely holds your phone and consoles, embodying the fearsome spirit that has captivated audiences for seven decades.

  • Gojira City Destroyer phone, remote control and gaming controller stand / holder
  • Compatible with most types of smartphones and console controllers, including the next-gen PlayStation 5 DualSense, Xbox Series S/X and all iPhones
  • The perfect gift for any Godzilla Fan
  • Officially licensed by Toho, styled on Godzilla 1954
  • Approx 8.5″ tall

Along with the Wonder Woman Cable Guys I received, I also got a classic-style Godzilla version that is based on their first ever appearance back in 1954. It’s definitely a niche item but for Godzilla fans, how does it hold up?

I was impressed with how sturdy the figure is and in true Cable Guys form, works with all the devices I could try. The retro Godzilla look is brilliant that maybe not everyone will appreciate, but its definitely faithful to the Kind of the Monsters’ original design.

The Verdict

While the original design of Godzilla may not be to modern tastes, it’s a nice throwback for fans who grew up watching the King of the Monsters. Personally, I think it’s a great look and will definitely please any Godzilla fan.

Score: 8.5
