PS5 Review: There’s A Gun In The Office

Can you make the ultimate escape?

You’ve been kidnapped and have to get out but luckily, there’s a gun in the office. Unluckily, your captor comes back home every day, so you have to cover your tracks when you go out of your cell. Use each passing day to get closer to the gun until you can finally leave.

There’s A Gun In The Office is a first-person game where you are a prisoner in an apartment. Your captor comes home every day, so you need to venture around the place, looking for clues to your freedom and essentially resetting any trace you’ve left before returning to your room before they return.

It can be quite stressful having to return every key and make sure you shut every door, cupboard and so on. Each day you will get a little bit further in your quest to reaching their office, but if you make too many mistakes you will have to redo the day you just did.

You will also need to eat what you can find, but obviously nothing too obvious that the captor will realise is missing. The controls are simple enough to get to grips with, though some things like inputting numbers doesn’t feel as optimised as it would be over a keyboard/mouse setup. This issue aside, I didn’t come across any bugs through my playthrough.

The visuals are simple but effective. The apartment is nicely detailed, and it runs at a steady framerate.

The Verdict

There’s A Gun In The Office is a decent idea and one that is implemented well with its high stressful scenario. Definitely one worth a look if you are in the market for something a little different.
