Can you really Date Everything?
Your BFA in customer service unfortunately goes to waste as you lose your job to AI. But… a mysterious stranger sends a gift – magical glasses called ‘dateviators’ – which make your house come alive and dateable! Date Everything brings an exciting new twist on the dating simulator genre. Each dateable object will open up, have their own stories and potentially become your lovers, friends, or enemies. With an exhaustive Who’s Who of voice actors keeping you company on your journey!
Date Everything is a bizarre visual novel game where you start talking to everyday household objects and “date” them. So, you can date everything from your fridge to your wardrobe and everything in between. It’s absolutely crazy, but somehow it works thanks to the great humour invested for each romantic interest and the vast list of impressive voice actors they’ve nailed to play the roles.
These vary from the likes of Ben Starr, Felicia Day, Troy Baker, Ashly Burch among other actors from various anime series and other video games. The interface itself is pretty easy to get used to and the overall premise works well. It may seem daunting having to juggle a large number of romantic personas, but it’s worth the effort.
The art style is charming, and the game runs at a smooth framerate. Voice-acting is hilariously brilliant thanks to clever writing and amazing performances from great actors. I didn’t come across any glitches during my playthrough.
The Verdict
Date Everything is one of the strangest games I’ve played, but its also up there as one of the funniest. Words alone cannot explain the madness and greatness of this game, so I’d recommend going on a blind date with this one.
