PS4 Review: Another Sight

Is this a blinding success?

A teenager who has lost her sight and a mysterious cat team up in a surreal fantasy adventure into the unexpected, weaving a tale that brings together some of the world’s greatest minds: Monet, Tesla, Edison and other historical cultural icons.

Another Sight is a puzzle-platformer in which you switch between Kit and a cat called Hodge. Kit can barely see, while Hodge has full sight. Essentially, you’ll be switching between the two constantly to progress as you use either to access new areas to continue. The idea is a decent one and it works well for the most part, though the puzzles themselves are fairly simple and there’s not much challenge overall.

Add in some clunky controls and you’ll be frustrated at times, but that doesn’t mean that Another Sight is a bad game. Far from it. It has a decent story, it’s visuals are good overall and the soundtrack is impressive. This was originally a PC game from September 2018 but it slipped under my radar back then, so it’s good to see it on consoles for those who either haven’t heard of the game before, or didn’t pick it up last year.

The Verdict

Another Sight should take you around 6 hours to complete from start to finish. It doesn’t really pose much of a challenge, but what it does provide is an interesting story and concept that works well for the most part, but clunky controls and some design problems hold it back.
