Football Legends Gary Pallister, Marcel Desailly & Quinton Fortune Invite Xbox LIVE Fans To “Game With Fame”
LONDON – 3 June 2010 – Xbox LIVE is offering football fans the chance to compete against sporting heroes Gary Pallister, Marcel Desailly and Quinton Fortune in an online gaming event at Wembley on Friday 4 June to help raise awareness of 1Goal, which seizes on the power of football to ensure that education is provided for every child in the world.
The “Game With Fame” event will see members of Xbox LIVE, the online gaming service, go head-to-head with ex-Manchester United and England player Gary, former French football captain and Chelsea star Marcel and South African striker Quinton Fortune on the new 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa video game.
Gary, Marcel and Quinton will be preparing for a kick about on Friday 4th June between 12:30pm and 1:30pm. To register to play simply email [email protected] or [email protected] or [email protected]. Lucky gamers who are successful will be emailed directly.
Fellow 1Goal fan and pop princess Gabriella Cilmi will also be attending the event to show her support.
This summer, 1Goal aims to secure 72 million signatures on an online petition calling on world leaders to provide education for all. So far the likes of Bono, Kelly Rowland, Kevin Spacey, Rio Ferdinand, Hilary Clinton and Gordon Brown have already signed the petition at www.Join1GOAL.com.
Xbox will be lending its support by spreading word among the 20 million subscribers to Xbox LIVE – its online bank of games, movies and entertainment. LIVE members can show their support for 1GOAL by downloading a free 1GOAL t-shit for their “Avatar”.
Those that don’t get to play on the day can still have some footy themed fun during the “Summer of Football” which is rolling out on Xbox LIVE over June which will offer members a variety of games and promotions including:
