PS5 Review: Dollhouse: Behind The Broken Mirror

Should you step behind this broken mirror?

Dollhouse: Behind The Broken Mirror is a terrifying first-person horror adventure game that tells a dark and mysterious story in a cinematic style. Enter the broken mind of Eliza de Moor, a once-celebrated singer, now trapped in the labyrinth of her own forgotten memories. Piece together the secrets of your past by exploring two nightmarish realities, all with the help of an experimental medicine.

I haven’t played any of the past Dollhouse games, but luckily it seems that you don’t need to have done so in order to understand the latest one. Behind the Broken Mirror is a psychological horror that has a clever premise and some interesting puzzles. But what of its flaws?

It does have a few of these, sadly. Gunplay feels as if its missing something and the camera can do some weird things sometimes. But besides these issues, there is a solid horror experience in there. It’s just really a question of whether you can overlook them or not, but I would definitely say to try and push on through.

The controls are easy to get to grips with and the visuals are impressive. The framerate is consistent and besides a few camera issues from time to time, I didn’t come across any other visual issues. Voice-acting is impressive and the soundtrack is decent as well.

The Verdict

Dollhouse: Behind the Broken Mirror is a solid psychological horror that is held back by a few things, but if you can get past them then you’ll find a great experience here.
