Xbox One Review: Samsara

What’s Samsara with you?

Samsara is a cute little puzzler in which you must reach the portal at the end of each stage by placing several shapes to lay a path for Samsara to walk across. If the path isn’t complete, then she’ll touch the ground and fail the level. Sounds simple? Well, you’d be wrong.

It starts out simple like that, but then the game adds a mirror version of your world above or below where Samsara is and placing the shapes in the opposite area will change how which way they land on the other version, then it gets more complicated as portals are added that makes Samsara travel between the two layers to reach the final doorway. It will take some mastering to discover the solution for some of the trickier levels, but it does become second nature after a while.

Samsara is very trial and error as you try and figure out which way to place the shapes, something that becomes tougher as the game goes on, but more second nature too. Overall, it’s an interesting game that will keep puzzle fans happy. In terms of visuals, Samsara is a charming game. It’s simplistic but cute.

The Verdict

Samsara is a cute, challenging puzzler that will have you scratching your head, yet feels satisfying when you solve the trickier levels. Definitely one that will please puzzle fans and those looking for a challenge.
