Does the Wii finally have a worthy karaoke game?
We Sing Encore is not your typical karaoke game. It has 40 tracks, comes with 2 mics (but can support upto 4 if you have a USB Hub). It has mini-games, lessons to teach you how to hit high and low notes, plus awards (which are basically achievements). The tracklist is below:

The list has some great songs from the best decades of music. I personally love Gold, Tainted Love, Ruby, Total Eclipse of the Heart and Three Lions (although the latter took a personal dive due to England’s abysmal World Cup performance). Most songs have the original videos, while a few have just background videos that aren’t original. It’s not that bad, really. Having said that, it does take away the feeling that the songs are licensed for use.
Video quality is fairly good and the microphones you get are of good quality. The cable is quite long so you shouldn’t come short if you sit far back from the TV. Perhaps some wireless ones would be nice, but for now the Logitech USB ones are just fine.
Apparently the Swedish and German versions of We Sing Encore have 10 different songs from the English version. I’m not sure which songs these are though. I would personally like to see some more recent songs in these karaoke games such as the talented Paloma Faith. Why songs like New York, Stone Cold Sober and Do You Want the Truth or Something Beautiful are not playable in any singing game is beyond me. Having said that, the tracklist of We Sing Encore is impressive as there are at least a few songs that almost everyone will like.
The Verdict
We Sing Encore is your typical karaoke game but adds replay value with unlockable awards, multiplayer and a great tracklist to sing to. It does exactly what it says on the tin and is great fun for those looking to sing some classics.
