The penultimate episode is upon us…
Episode 4 starts off with either Hala reunited with her son who was revived from the Eternity Forge or cursing you from robbing her of the chance. Either way, the oncoming battle sends the Guardians down into the depths below and they spend the majority of the episode trying to escape.
This penultimate episode is full of great moments, but mostly ones that I don’t want to spoil…which isn’t easy for me, but suffice to say that things will never be the same and some of the choices you make are gut-wrenching. The Guardians have never been so divided afterwards and while the outcome will be different depending on your choices, it’s all looking quite hopeless for Star-Lord and his companions.
The episode is about the same length as the past ones, but it does seem to fly by a lot faster due to the intense moments that I won’t speak of, at least until I’m writing about the finale, which is out next week. Performance-wise, Episode 4 works just as well as the others and the framerate rarely drops. Dialogue is just as great as always, while the soundtrack is full of classic tunes as you would expect from the series.
The Verdict
I wish I could spoil you with the details of what goes down in Episode 4, but I don’t want to ruin the experience for you. Suffice to say, that this gut-wrenching episode will make you question your choices thus far and question just how the Guardians can come back from this. Roll on next week’s finale!
