PS4 Review: Call of Duty WWII – DLC 3: United Front

Can WWII keep up the pace?

The Allies retaliate in DLC Pack 3 for Call of Duty: WWII – United Front. Experience the dramatic drive toward Berlin across three new Multiplayer maps: Stalingrad, Market Garden, and Monte Cassino. Armor up and push across North Africa in a new objective-based War Mode mission: Operation Supercharge. Plus, join new heroes in a unique Nazi Zombies experience.

The latest DLC for COD WWII has the traditional new maps and new Nazi Zombies level like you’d expect. Stalingrad is a snow-covered factory district with underground sewers, Market Garden sees you fight off German advances to maintain control of the Allied mansion base and finally, Monte Cassino is nestled below a mountaintop monastery that has rooftop vantage points and flank points along the cliffs.

The new War Mode Map “Operation Supercharge” is based in Tunisia and sees you assault a train bridge, build guard towers and push the Axis forces to collapse to achieve victory. While the new Nazi Zombies map sees your team lead a small caravan across the 2,000 miles of infested land that stand between Berlin and the Allied-controlled port of Malaga. Your mission? Transport the remaining pieces of Emperor Barbarossa’s legendary sword to the edge of the world. Uncover the lost forges of ancient Thule and deliver a final death to the Undying.

All in all, it’s an impressive package and one that is once again, worth the price of admission. My only gripe with the multiplayer itself is the overpowered shotgun with incendiary shells. I recently hit Prestige after slugging it out with numerous players using the cheap overpowered weapon that if the blast doesn’t kill you, the fire sure will. It also has a crazy range that’s more like a rifle, its killing the multiplayer in my opinion and needs nerfed immediately.

The Verdict

As with past map packs, United Front gives good bang for your buck. The new maps are well designed and fun to play, while the new Nazi Zombies will keep you more than entertained for weeks to come. I’m amazed the quality of the DLC hasn’t dipped and with one final DLC to go, I can’t see it slipping at the finish line. The team just need to nerf that damn shotgun and then it’ll be an even greater experience.
