Introducing...Maimtron 9000

You may notice a second gamertag in the blog. It's my second account, which is my personal one that I created at the start of 2009. Agent Superball will mostly be used for reviewing games, while Maimtron 9000 will be used for pure gaming.

Case in point, Maimtron 9000 only has to get the Professional achievement in Resi 5 to get the full 1000. I'm gonna try to give that a go later tonight.

So, just who is Maimtron 9000?
Maimtron 9000 is a robot appearing in Sam & Max Season Two.

After a brief cameo at the start of Reality 2.0, where he is also said to be Max' new presidential press secretary, the Maimtron makes his first true appearance at the start of Ice Station Santa. Sent to Sam & Max as a Christmas present, he kills Mr. Spatula, rearranges the street (moving Sybil's office to be in between Bosco's Inconvenience and Stinky's Diner), and tries to similarly thrash the office. Sam & Max defeat him by distracting him long enough to remove the wind-up key from his back.

While Sam and Max are busy at the North Pole, Jimmy Two-Teeth claims the remains of the Maimtron to set up a rat casino. In What's new, Beelzebub?, Sam uses the AI salvaged from the T.H.E.M. ufo (together with the power source Jimmy installed for casino use) to bring Maimtron 9000 back to life, and then uses him to pick up a coin-sized token from Ms Bosco's apartment.

The Maimtron 9000 often talks in quotes from "hideously middle-of-the road" pop songs (as Max describes it). When not busy causing widespread destruction, he likes to ponder matters of philosophy.

Who Watches the Watchmen? I do!

I have just come back from seeing Watchmen in London and I really enjoyed it. It's quite long at 2 hours and 40 odd minutes, but did see a few noticeable cuts that fans will notice. If the rumours are true, hopefully it'll be added onto a special extended version for all to enjoy.

The film sticks very closely to the comic book (which I have read and loved) the acting is superb, especially Rorschach's character. I recommend to every fan to see it, forget anything negative you may have heard...it's all BS.

You Want Proof? Here It Is.

There's been a small few who have accused me of not even having a copy of Killzone 2 for review, saying that Sony wouldnt dare send me a copy. If you must know, I'm respected by Sony for being honest and not a pawn in the industry.

For those who still doubt I got a copy, take a look at this picture I just took:

My arguments about Killzone 2 are valid enough. I liked it, I enjoyed it...I just didn't love it like the fanboys do, even though most of them probably haven't even played it yet. When you do, you'll know that my verdict was quite fair.

So Far...So Good...

After the madness of the reaction from the Killzone 2 review, things are starting to lighten up. Street Fighter IV got a much deserved 9.5 score for the PS3.

Tomorrow's review will be GTA IV: The Lost and Damned. Friday will see FEAR 2 Project Origin getting its final score from yours truly. Next week I'll be reviewing all Square-Enix's latest titles including Chrono Trigger DS, Star Ocean Second Evolution PSP, Disgaea 3 PS3 and Dragon Quest: The Hand of the Heavenly Bride for DS.

Right now, I'm finishing up TLAD for tomorrow and so far, it's pretty damn good. Look out for the review sometime on Thursday.

As Sinatra Would Say "Let It Snow, Let it Snow"...

This week has been a complete nightmare for the UK. Early hours of Monday it began snowing the worst for 18 years. It's now Thursday and we're expecting even more tomorrow, resulting in me being snowed in yet again!

Luckily my internet has held out, so all is well. I was also lucky to get my PC back after a nice 2GB upgrade of RAM, making it upto 4GB. GTA IV is running much smoother now :)

We'll have to wait and see what the weather brings tomorrow, but chances are it won't be good...

2009 - The Blog is Back!

I realise that its been months since my last blog post, this has been due to a very busy time reviewing and posting over at VGR. While it wont change dramatically, the blog will get more frequent posts and updates. For today though, I'm off to an event for Warner and wont be able to talk about it for a few weeks....

GTX 280...It's Alive!

I got round to testing the GTX 280 out on Friday after spending hours trying to recover my files after my external HDD spewed it all out. I got most of them back but lost a ton of videos and music that I had accumulated over the years...:(

Anyway back to the 280. I put it through its paces with Fallout 3 first, which was pretty sweet....I can't wait to go back to it properly and finish it off once and for all. Then I tested it with Crysis and Crysis Warhead....no problems, no cut-outs like before...runs like a dream for a machine that has only 2gb in it.

I'm hoping to start playing LOTRO Mines of Moria soon and review it next week, so be sure to keep an eye out for it.

GTX 280 Fixed?

Well I just got my PC back from the repair shop, they installed a 1000w PSU that has a combined 12V of 80 amps. So far it seems to have done the trick and is running smoothly, I'll put it to the test later when I've recovered my files from my buggered external HDD.
