The We Sing games have done quite well for Nintendo’s little machine, We Sing Rock is the latest version and will appeal to pretty much anyone with any taste in classic music. But what exactly are you going to get in this collection? Well, 40 songs for starters and here’s the list:

Now you might be wondering about some of those choices. I personally love the tracklist, but was a bit confused by certain songs being included in a Rock version of We Sing. I mean does KT Tunstell really sound like a rockstar? I didn’t think so either; it’s also disappointing not to see a single Queen song on this collection. It would have made it perfect to belt out We Are The Champions or Don’t Stop Me Now, although those who saw me perform the latter will know it’s kinda for the best that it isn’t included on the disc…
I did enjoy singing classics like Here I Go Again ’87, Suspicious Minds and Bring Me To Life, while I was more than awful at the likes of I Believe In A Thing Called Love. The video quality is nice, although not all videos are included in the game and instead you are given a background of a rotating microphone or something like that.
It’s a shame, but it’s not the worst crime and it’s not like it’s the first time it’s happened in a We Sing game.
In terms of an actual collection, you have some of the best Rock songs on the disc, although like I said I don’t feel like every song qualifies as a Rock song and there are some classics that are missing. Seriously though, when will anyone ever bring Bat Out Of Hell to a karaoke game? Surely it’s about time!
The Verdict
We Sing Rock provides great entertainment and a decent tracklist of rock classics. It doesn’t change the formula, but there’s no point changing what isn’t broken. It would be nice to see a sequel to the Rock collection with even more classics on it somewhere down the line though…
