Does Just Dance still have the smooth moves?
Ashamed as I am, this is actually the first Just Dance game I’ve played. I know…how have I avoided it? Well, its quite simple…I can’t dance to save my life! Plus there’s always the paranoid thought that I’m being watched from outside, so it took quite a lot to actually play through Just Dance 3. So, how did I find it?
Just to remind you, it’s the Wii version that I’m reviewing…so don’t go expecting me to compare what it’s like with Kinect or Move because I honestly have no clue. So, if you haven’t played before either then the object is simple…strap the Wii Remote on and move about to the music with the help of visual aids and dancers that will show you how to move.
There are over 40 songs to dance to, although being on Wii it would have been nice to see some Nintendo tunes to dance to like Mario or Zelda. Anyway here’s the full songlist:

As you can see, there’s quite an impressive line-up and they are pretty darn difficult to dance to, especially to someone like me with no rhythm. You can also download more songs, which is a rare but nice thing for a Wii game to offer. There are other modes besides just plain dancing, one is even a workout program called Sweat It Out.
Just Dance is a game best played with others and the 3rd game has plenty to support you and your friends with modes like Duet Mode, Medley and Simon Says. You even get the lyrics for the songs on the screen for anyone who fancies a sing-a-long, although it doesn’t actually have mic support. The visual style of Just Dance is its main selling point and this sequel does a nice job in looking cool, but practical. The tracklist is impressive and there are tonnes of hours of replay value, especially playing with friends and family.
The Verdict
Just Dance 3 adds some new modes to the mix and it still offers a great experience. It was my first time into the series and despite being terrible at the game; I did enjoy my time with it. Even if you don’t have the moves, it’s still a highly enjoyable game that everyone with a Wii must try.
